K/P Corporation achieves forest stewardship council chain-of-custody certification

Certification validates that resources are coming from responsibly managed forests

SAN RAMON, CA – May 17, 2007 – K/P Corporation, a leading marketing technology solution provider, announced today that its Washington facilities are its first locations to earn Chain-of- Custody (COC) certification from the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). This certification is the most recent eco-friendly initiative awarded to the company, which also uses recycled paper and soy-based inks. Chain-of-Custody is the path taken by raw materials harvested from an FSC-certified source to the end consumer, and includes the different stages of processing, manufacturing and distribution. Certification confirms that the end product can be accurately identified and traced back to a forest that has been FSC-certified. For forests to become certified, the forest managers must comply with a set of principles and criteria that promote responsible management of the forests’ multiple resources, plus respect for the rights of the workers and indigenous people.
