Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Chain-of-Custody (COC) Certification

The FSC promotes the responsible management of the world’s forests. Chain-of-Custody refers to the path taken by raw materials harvested from an FSC-certified source to the end consumer, and certification confirms that this final product can be accurately identified and traced back to an FSC-certified forest.

KP has been awarded multi-site COC certification (FSC-C019972) and can provide products with the FSC label.

Bay Area Green Business Program

The Bay Area Green Business Program verifies that businesses meet higher standards of environmental performance. Businesses are audited and re-certified every three years by environmental agencies.

ISO 14001 Certification for Environmental Management System

Just as our ISO 9001 certification demonstrates our commitment to the highest standards of quality, the ISO 14001 certification provides the framework for best practices in environmental stewardship. Fulfilling the requirements of certification means that we establish a clear policy and set goals for continuous improvement. Procedures are documented and goals are communicated to all employees, suppliers and clients. Measurements are established so that we can clearly see our progress.

Ways we make a Difference

  • KP actively recycles paper, plastics and metals, which is beneficial in reducing air and gas emissions, as well as water and energy consumption.
  • KP also uses paper with recycled content and FSC certified papers for our own printed materials and promotes their use by our clients.
  • KP uses agriculturally based inks that release low volumes or no volatile organic chemicals compared to petroleum based inks, thus reducing air emissions.
  • KP continues to promote energy savings programs with our facilities such as upgrading to newer lighting fixtures and bulbs.
