This worldwide retailer was looking for a way to launch a new product and create excitement with their existing customers prior to the official store launch. KP created designs for a sample carrier that could be produced and mailed to Loyalty Club members in a short time frame.

Customer Challenge

Our client is the leader in creating high-quality coffee products and serving them world-wide with seamless consistency. They were launching a new consumer product that needed to reflect the same high quality that was available in the restaurant locations.

Our client needed to find a way to get samples to existing loyalty program members to create “buzz” and demand for their new product prior to the official launch and they needed a “sample delivery mechanism” that was compelling, secure and cost effective.  They turned to KP for a solution.  

Work Smarter Solution

After receiving product sample packets from the client, we determined that the most effective method for reliably getting the samples into the target audience’s hands was to engineer a package that was both compelling to open and cost-effective to deliver.

The real challenge was that the samples needed to be sent immediately to assure freshness and quality.  KP was able to create mockups for five different designs within 24 hours of receiving samples, and got direction and sign-off by the USPS for delivering food products through the mail in parallel with sign-off from the client.  

Within 10 days of receiving product sample packets, KP had engineered, printed, assembled and mailed almost 100,000 sample pack delivery mailers to the clients’ loyalty program members.  The pre-launch campaign was considered a huge success and is considered a key component of this highly successful product launch.
